Woohoo! Sign up for a recurring subscription today for extra Real Life each week! That's right - I've decided to just go ahead and do it, since it was suggested by a number of people. From now on (seriously, I don't plan on stopping this if it takes off) for a mere $5 per month subscription, you can get one extra Real Life Comic per week! This will initially be sent to you via e-mail on Saturdays, but will eventually ramp up to a whole login-type thing. Could be very cool. If you prefer, there is also a $15/month subscription available that will get you an additional printed booklet at the end of each month, containing the month's bonus comics, as well as one to two additional print-only comics, as well as a monthly sketch and some other newsletter-y type stuff. You'll get these things automatically as long as your subscription is active, so subscribe today and get in on the extra RL-goodness!
Subcription Option 1: $5/Month
With this option, you'll get an additional Real Life Comic sent to you every Saturday, until we set up an online verification system, at which point you'll be able to log in and see any bonus content at your leisure.
Subcription Option 2: $15/Month
With this option, you'll still get the online version of the comics, but you'll also recieve a printed booklet at the end of each month, containing the month's bonus strips, as well as an additional 1-2 print-only comics, as well as a monthly sketch from yours truly.
Hey guys... this is gonna sound more dramatic than it really is, but I just figured I'd post it here before it got out anywhere else: I have officially tendered my resignation from Blank Label Comics.
Now, as I said, that's a lot more dramatic sounding than it really is, and if you don't read the rest of this, you're going to get the wrong impression, and I don't want that. :) I should lead off by saying it has NOTHING at all to do with the BLC guys, or BLC as a company, really, and I still have the UTMOST of respect and admiration for the guys still in BLC. We're good friends, and I intend to keep it that way. This resignation is really more for personal reasons, and shouldn't be taken as any commentary on BLC or anything. For rizzle. They're doing some awesome stuff, as you'll see in the upcoming weeks. So, yeah.
It's a twofold reason. The larger reason is that, in all honesty, I don't really contribute that much to the group, and didn't really see myself wanting to put forth much effort. I don't plan on going back to Comic Con in the near future (it almost bankrupt us this year, and it's a very tough con to swing, financially) and I don't share advertising, nor did I put much effort into helping out with cross-promotion. I'm just a little too crotchety these days, I guess. Between my full-time job and doing the comic, I just have very little energy to do much for the group, and that sucks. They've let me know it's okay and that I don't have to worry about it, but I still feel like a drain on things, and that's not fair - especially when I'm an OPINIONATED drain. :)
The second, much less important reason, is that I AM an opinionated guy. Moreso than Willis and Troop, by a long shot. Occasionally, someone does something that pisses me off, and I'd love to call them on it, but I can't, because everything I do or say can be taken as a member of BLC, and I don't think it's fair that those guys should have to put up with crap 'cause I can't keep my big mouth shut. I don't have anything in particular to talk frankly about right now, but I did last week, and while the need to gripe has passed for the time being, it might not in the future. So since I wasn't really contributing much to the group anyway, I figured it'd be best if we officially moved along separately.
David, Steve... you guys are still great, great, friends... and I'll be there for you in a heartbeat if you ask me to be. And to all you readers, check out Blank Label Comics in the next few weeks for some big changes and announcements. They're up to some fantastic stuff, and while I may not be a part of it, I'm still very excited about it.
So, for starters, I'm PROBABLY going to have STO comics pretty much this entire week, unless I run out of material. So brace yourselves for that. :)
Secondly, a number of people have asked my handle on STO, so we could perchance team up. Its a tough one here, and may well throw you for a loop... "GregDean". Seriously. My character changes it up a bit, though... his name is "Greg Dean". With a SPACE.
Yeah, I know. It's far from original... but you have to understand something about me and Star Trek. We go way, way back. And even though I've worshipped the ground Captains Kirk and Picard walked on, I was never one of those kids who dreamed of playing AS them... I dreamed of being in Starfleet. So in my mind, why would I want to play as someone OTHER than myself? I'm Lieutenant Greg Dean, Captain of the U.S.S. Batavia (Name change pending... I can't figure out where to change it), at your service. If you need help killin' Klingon scum, I'm your man.
Anyway, add me to your friends list if you'd like. I might consider starting a fleet at some point, but for now, I'm just focused on reaching Lieutenant Commander so I can get my hands on the Constitution-Class Refit. :) If nothing else, it'll just make my current "Wrath of Khan"-era uniform more appropriate.
Sorry guys... I'm kind of a slave to my mood, and events of the day have just sort of soured me for this evening. Nothing I can talk about publicly or anything, but suffice to say, I've not really been in a comicking mood tonight. :/
Fear not, though. I'm a malleable guy. Sleep is the healer of all wounds, in my experience. I'll be back and entertaining you with mediocrity first thing tomorrow - I promise! (Srsly... it's not as serious as it sounds. I'm just in a foul mood, and that's no time to comick. For reals.)

One of those days that I'm just not up to it. :/
